Fashion designer V

Will finds fashion book with season sketches and swatches in a midtown canister aimed to go to the garbage and he grabs it for Vero. She loves it and imagines her own collections. I think we have a fashion designer in the making. But we all knew that, right?

Kidpreneur Market

Run down of our kids participating in Kidpreneur market. Missing photos of Samuel- bad parents, here.
Samuel sold ornaments, original comics he wrote/illustrated, and antique magazines from 30's-50's. Samuel made close to $100 in revenue.
Ale sold gingerbread cookie kits and made over $200 revenue in two hours.

Vero sold her crown headbands and we don't know how well she did because she also did a lot of shopping at other kidpreneur tables! Vero said that people loved her crowns so much that she wants to open a crown school.

Speeding through London- getting started

So here's our day:
I woke up at 6am to finish packing.
The kids woke up at 8 am and off to have breakfast at our favorite place in Getaria.
We drove to the airport and promptly got thoroughly lost in the Basque countryside. Note to self: Google (maps) just like most others empires has not been able to conquer the Basque lands.
We barely made our 12:30 flight out of Bilbao (don't even ask how I managed 4 pieces of luggage, a car seat, 3 kids and returning a car rental- alone- Will returned to US several days ago). At least our baggage is checked through to NYC.

We arrived in London by 1:00p.m. and waited and waited for passport control- we were not impressed with the speed there- but they were thorough about their security questions!
We took a cab to Kensingotn (I had booked an Airbnb at 12:30 am that day).
On the ride to our flat I chat up our cabbie who lectured me on the virtues of professional London cab drivers who have taken the knowledge training- unlike the untrained uber drivers. My cabbie was pro brexit and wonders what we will do with Trump. The cabbie also was a great tour guide- pointing out important areas of interest.

The children were impressed by how well everyone drives here on the wrong side of the road.

We dropped off backpacks at our lovely garden flat and headed off in search of fish and chips. We found some at a nearby restaurant and the kids loved it.

Then we were off to explore London via dream jars.
There is an exhibit celebrating the upcoming Roald Dahl's BFG movie and there are dream jars placed all over the city. The dream jars, based on the dream jars from the BFG. The jars are inspired by famous people.

We wanted to start with Big ben and uber'd over to just outside the Supreme Court we found Mark Rylance's The Merry Go Round dream jar. Veronica loved the carousel and Samuel was underwhelmed. The dream jar was also situated in a great place to admire Big Ben- which our cabbie was nice enough to tell us we would not see because Big Ben is the bell and we were looking at the Elizabeth Tower.

There is an exhibit celebrating the upcoming Roald Dahl's BFG movie

We wanted to start with Big ben and uber'd over to just outside the
Supreme Court we found Mark Rylance's The Merry Go Round dream jar.
Veronica loved the carousel and Samuel was underwhelmed.

The dream jar was also situated in a great place to admire Big Ben-
which our cabbie was nice enough to tell us we would not see because
Big Ben is the bell and we were looking at the Elizabeth Tower.

Then we walked over to Westminster Abbey where we found the dream jar
entitled Mayor of Dreamland by Robert Davis at the Christchurch
Gardens. Vero wanted to know why there was a castle in the sky.

We next walked over to St. James Place Park where the kids found the
Read dream jar by the Duchess of Cornwall. All 3 children loved this
one and obviously appreciated it's theme where it celebrates the magic
of books.

The kids frolicked in St. James Place Park and enjoyed seeing all the
different fowl.

Then Veronica noticed Buckingham Palace. When she learned a real
Queen lived there she insisted that we bring her to her. She was
sorely disappointed that the Queen of England would not have this
Queen from Queens over for Tea. I don't think V is impressed at all
by British manners.

The kids were not so impressed by all the cameras and reporters
reporting in front of the palace- I tried to tell them that it was a
big deal that Cameron stepped down and that Theresa May,.... blah blah
is what they heard.

We started walking towards Hyde park to see another dream jar but alas
a disappointed Queen from Queens was getting tired.

I uber'd us over to St. Paul's Cathedral where on the south side of
the Cathedral there was an I dream of universe jar by Professor
Stephen Hawking- Samuel quickly reported that Stephen Hawking writes
scary novels. Uuuhh no kid...he's.... more blah blah.

On the west side of the Cathedral was a powerful dream jar, Home is
Where the Heart Is by Dominic West. This dream jar depicted war torn
homes. Vero was really moved by what seemed to her a beautiful doll
house and why it would be destroyed.

We then flagged down a taxi to get us to a place very dear to Samuel-
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Unfortunately the dream jar at the Shakespeare Globe had been removed
for repairs???
We got to enjoy a lovely little ... starbucks... sorry but this mami
needed caffeine and the kiddies needed sweets to survive a bit more
tourism.
We had a lovely walk on the bankside of the Thames River and saw the
Millenium bridge.

Then we uber'd over to the Tower of London & the Tower Bridge. We
couldn't find any of the dream jars and V was about to collapse and
start dreaming right then and there.

So we hailed a cab that was wonderful and had us ride on the Tower
bridge, and the London Bridge and served as a wonderful guide
throughout the city.

Frankly the cabbies are so good about giving history and trivia. They
are way better then the uber drivers who are busy looking at google
maps or Waze.

Now I have 3 awesome traveling companions very asleep....
